Ice creams can still be enjoyed when you're wet & bedraggled.

As I enthused so much in my previous post about the marble bathrooms, I thought I'd show you what type of bathrooms & toilets we normally endure use.
These had no hot water and no heating. And they weren't cleaned. Yes that is poo you can see.

So, it was time to leave Verona. Before we headed further south, we wanted to see Milan and the lakes.
Andrew had towed the caravan for the entire trip to date and I felt I needed to give him a break. So I offered to drive. As many of you are aware, I took it all in my stride. I drove 160km with no hassle. Easy peasy.
Unfortunately, the road network became slightly more complicated once we left the autostrada.
Tunnels and weird exit slip roads meant I took the wrong turning (nothing to do with me you'll understand) and instead of heading towards Lake Como, we found ourselves heading up a mountain.
I carried on, looking for a place to turn around. The roads got twistier and more turney until even Andrew (with nerves of steel) looked slightly tense. I was sweating and gripping the steering wheel. The children also nervous as my voice reached a squeaky pitch of panic. I truly didn't know what to do. Cars were backing up behind me as each turn threatened to take the side of our caravan off. I FELT A LOT OF PANIC.
It wasn't long, before I asked Andrew to help. Being a lot more experience than me, I felt he could get us out of the sticky situation we found ourselves in.
He did.

We met up with my friend Clare Pearce from school in Milan and had a lovely afternoon with her gorgeous family. Milan was lively, lovely & sunny! We all enjoyed seeing the stunning Duomo. Quite the most spectacular we had ever seen.
